We are hiring for a part-time position at LEKA Playland! Do you LOVE being around kids? Are you tech savvy? Then we might be looking for you :)
Our immediate needs are for Mondays, Wednesdays and one Saturday or Sunday per week, about 25 hours per week. Must be over 21 and willing to get an Alcohol Service Permit from OLCC (paid by employer).

Our first Special Event is with Portland’s own Stefano Iaboni. He will put on a magic/variety show for us on March 30. The event is FREE with regular admission, or you may use your punch card to attend. Reservations are required for this event.
Chickpeas makes the BEST sensory bin filler! And they are so ridiculously simple to make at home. We made ours below with “shimmery” acrylic paint, but you can also use any regular “matte” acrylic paint you may find. We also like chickpeas because there’s close to zero drying time involved.
Here’s the recipe we use for our sensory bins at LEKA Playland. What you need:
Giant bag of dried chickpeas. Some call them “Garbanzo Beans”, but it’s the same thing.
Acrylic paint. We like this shimmery one from Amazon and it comes in a variety of cool colors.
Hand sanitizer (yes — you read that right), only need a couple of squirts. This is just to dialute the paint slightly and make it dry faster.
1 gallon ziplock bag
Mix all of these things together in the zip lock bag. Once color is added, close the bag and “massage” the peas and make sure all of them are covered with paint. Once done, get a parchment paper and dump them on top, leave to dry. Stir occasionally so they don’t stick together. Done, easy-peasy!
We've been having some busy mornings at LEKA recently! 9am-11am is our busiest time. Waiting is so hard, especially for little kids. That’s why we have implemented a new text waitlist system so if you see that we are full you can add yourself to the waitlist on our website before starting your drive over. In the afternoons we are typically not busy at all so at that time we won’t be running one.

While the kids get their wiggles out, you can relax with a drink in hand. Our license will soon be issued and we hope to have our beverage menu ready by this weekend.

LEKA Playland is the perfect kids party venue, especially in the winter. When you book a party at LEKA, you get the entire place to yourself. That means you get private access to the entire facility, and we close the place down to the public.
We are excited to announce that we now offer more slots for birthday parties and private events throughout the week. We will offer a slot M-F 5:30pm-7:30pm at a discounted rate of $350. We will also offer a later time on Saturday and Sundays between 6:30pm-8:30pm, at the regular rate of $425.
Our space is not only perfect for kids’ birthday parties, but it’s also suitable for a variety of other private events; fundraisers, baptism, family reunions, private play groups, community meetings, etc.
